Quick answers

Which iPhones does it work on?

Calorie Tracker runs all of its AI on-device, so it needs an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence (iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, or any later model) running iOS 27 or later, with Apple Intelligence turned on. Apple Intelligence must also be available in your language and region.

How do I turn on Apple Intelligence?

Open Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siriand turn on Apple Intelligence. Your iPhone then downloads the on-device model in the background, which works best on Wi-Fi and while charging. If the app says the model isn’t ready, leave your iPhone connected for a while and try again.

Photo scanning says it needs a newer iOS

Photo scanning and nutrition-label reading use Apple Intelligence image understanding, which requires iOS 27. Update in Settings → General → Software Update. Text and voice logging and the AI Coach use the same on-device model.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Photo, label, text and voice logging and the AI Coach all run on your iPhone, so they work without a connection. Only barcode lookups (which fetch nutrition facts from Open Food Facts), iCloud sync and purchases need internet.

Restore purchases

On a new or reset iPhone, sign in to the App Store with the same Apple ID you bought with, open Calorie Tracker and tap Restore at the bottom of the purchase screen. This works for both subscriptions and Lifetime. There is no account to log in to; your purchase is tied to your Apple ID.

What is the Lifetime purchase?

Lifetime is a one-time payment that unlocks Calorie Tracker Plus with no renewals. If you already have an active subscription, cancel it in your Apple ID subscriptions after buying Lifetime so it doesn’t renew.

Manage or cancel a subscription

On your iPhone, go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions and choose Calorie Tracker. From there you can change plans or cancel. You keep access until the end of the current period. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Sync between devices with iCloud

If you’re signed in to iCloud, your food log, weight and body-fat entries, photos and Coach chats sync automatically through your own private iCloud database. Use the same Apple ID on each iPhone and make sure iCloud is on for the app in Settings → [your name] → iCloud. We can’t see your iCloud data.

Photo estimate looks wrong

AI results are estimates. Tap the entry to change the food, grams or servings. Mixed dishes, sauces and cooking oil are the usual culprits, so a quick check on those goes a long way.

Voice logging isn’t working

Check that Microphone and Speech Recognition are allowed in Settings → Apps → Cal Tracker. Speech is transcribed on-device, so your iPhone needs on-device speech support for the language you’re speaking.

Barcode not found

Barcodes are looked up in the public Open Food Facts database (only the barcode number is sent). If a product isn’t there, take a photo of its nutrition label instead and the on-device AI will read it.

Apple Health

With your permission, Calorie Tracker reads weight, height and body fat and writes nutrition and body measurements. Turn it on in the app’s settings (gear icon → Health & Data), or change access in the Health app: tap your profile picture, then Apps under Privacy.

Delete my data

Tap the gear icon on the Home screen, then Health & Data → Delete All Data. This erases your data on the device and in your iCloud. See Delete your data for other options.
